Video games require EFFORT. Hard, badass 80s-90s games require you to try the Same Thing over and over again, autistically. In order to have TIME to do this, you must be a LOSER. Perhaps GAY. Therefore, beating some Batman NES game may well correlate with being both GAY and AUTISTIC.

Games that came later balance gameplay with being a technical showcase. I don't feel like I could watch a PS1 FMV from a Japanese-made title in the living room and not risk being disinherited.

So yes FF7 takes 37 hours, a few seasons of TV slop takes 77 hours. But to make the comparison is intellectually dishonest. TV is a joke and requires you to veg out like a retard and watch endless ads but a respectable person could hypothetically turn on Johnny Carson after a long day at the Office where he expended his energy offshoring jobs and screwing over Gen X subordinates.
