this is the most ive drunk in terms of continously drinking. Before I wld drink moar but Sun Mon Tues sometimes even Wed it was no drink and I never had issues doing this but jfc for some reason like six months ago I just started drinking on Sun and then Mon too and Tues and Wed and now i drink beer every day

Ill try to take 2-3 days off before the LIVER test but doubtful i can even do that

"Ill try to take 2-3 days off before the LIVER test but doubtful i can even do that"

rofl @ this classic Tommy-ism. This is retarded in three ways: 1) You have to fast for the specified period prior to the test, but before that doesn't matter. 2) Briefly not drinking before it won't somehow change the results of the liver test. 3) If it could somehow change the results of the liver test, then doing so defeats the purpose of the liver test.

The human body is pretty resilient so you might not be fucked but LJL @ your reasoning.

furk well then i will just continue drinking...

Yes — that comment is accurate and well-reasoned.

  Let’s break it down:

Fasting timing — Liver panels (ALT, AST, bilirubin, etc.) sometimes require fasting for 8–12 hours before the blood draw, but not multiple days of abstaining from food or alcohol beforehand. So taking “2–3 days off” isn’t necessary for fasting purposes. ✅

Short-term abstinence won’t normalize results — If liver enzymes are elevated due to chronic drinking, skipping alcohol for just a couple of days won’t meaningfully change enzyme levels or liver function markers. They typically take weeks to months to improve. ✅

Defeats the purpose — If someone could “game” the test by abstaining briefly, then the result wouldn’t reflect their actual liver health under normal habits. So yes, doing that would make the test misleading. ✅

So overall, the critique is spot-on — the original statement doesn’t make medical sense, and the reply correctly points out why.
