When traveling for business I find something in the Marriott line because I really enjoy how sterile and purposefully unoffending their properties are. Some of the Marriotts in the DC area are also great. Obviously, you don't go to a Courtyard and expect it to rival an Intercontinental or Kimpton. |

Kimpton is my go to for personal travel (I always bring my huge dog and they have no pet restrictions and they're generally a 4 star hotel).
The only impressive Holiday Inns seem to be abroad (some in Mexico are hilariously nice and have room service and shit).
Also, the IHG top tier CC is very cheap and gives you Platinum status ($40k gets you Diamond), plus accumulates points rapidly. |
