This is really opening normies’ eyes up to what a scam EBT/SNAP has become

Well put. Like so many other things today, it's a debt-fueled bonanza to keep the Ponzi machine going.
One of the issues we face is that so much of GDP is driven by debt-fueled spending and the myriad transactions associated with the capital it pumps into the system. What started out, presumably, as a failsafe for struggling people has become a beast that needs to be fed or else the broader economy will face consequences.
An economy that is almost entirely driven by rentiers moving money around will allow for an enormous amount of fraud bullshit because it is necessary for the rentier economy to continue functioning.

My kid went to a public school in NY where the average HHI is over $300K easy. During the fraud COVID shutdowns, they literally mailed everyone EBT cards to cover meals on days when the school was shut for COVID outbreaks, without checking to see whether anyone actually needed it. I checked the balance on the card, and it was like $465. I didn't spend it, because I'm not a piece of shit, but I checked and I literally could have bought steak and lobster on FreshDirect and had it delivered to my house on the state's dime. It's preposterous. I can't imagine how much waste there is in this program.
Studies have also shown that recipients spend much more lavishly than people spending their own money. This meme is absolutely true: https://www.instagram.com/p/DQTp5HWDuLa/ The same is true for health insurance. There will always be waste and abuse when people are given money for free.

"I wanted to share my experience today buying food at this Popeyes location (1465 Myrtle Ave - close to the Knickerbocker M stop). I was overcharged quite a bit and didn’t realize it until after I paid. My order consisted of a 10 Piece Family Meal deal ($25.99), which is an offer through the app, but I made sure to show the worker the code on the app, a 3-piece tender ($7.99), a mango lemonade (3.79), and four ranch sauces. I was charged $44 on my EBT card for this order. Typically, when SNAP users use EBT at participating restaurants, there is a 10% discount on the cost of the meal. My total should’ve been roughly around $38.
I was never told or shown my order total before swiping my card. It wasn’t until I was waiting for my food that I checked my EBTEdge app (external app to track purchases and lock card) that I saw the total and thought it didn’t look right. When I went to pick up my food, I asked the same employee for my receipt. The first time, he pretended not to hear me, and when I kept persisting, he said, “EBT orders don’t have receipts,” which I know is a lie because I’ve gotten a non-itemized receipt at this Popeyes location in the past. It was also pretty obvious he was lying.
Looking back, I’ve realized this isn’t the first time I believe this has happened at this Popeyes location because my order total will be some perfectly rounded number. I know sometimes different locations have different prices, but this is pretty blatant in my opinion. I honestly also feel pretty disgusted that they are doing this at a time in our country when SNAP benefits for November are likely not coming.
I definitely want to escalate this to corporate, but it’s going to be difficult without a receipt and order number. Also planning on leaving a Google review. Anyway, I wanted to warn other people who might be using EBT at this location or paying with a card, and hopefully, someone can learn from my mistake."
Ok we can end America now.
