Consider: every rod has infinite length because it can be regarded as the infinite sum of increasingly small pieces! In either case, the conclusion proven by contradiction is that infinity doesn't exist or, at least, is useless as an explanatory concept for everyday reasoning. Oh, and notice that the 'solution' to the 'paradox' requires nothing like 'calculus' or anything fancy. In other news and words, the 'great thinkers' of the past were actual retards by today's standards and are of limited and overrated utility. |
