my position is that the writing in the first two episodes left much to be desired
the premise of the show is good.
but sending a bunch of literal children in expensive prototype bodies on a search and rescue mission with no actual search and rescue people with them? loved the part where someone on fire walked by them and they did nothing. a lot of the character behavior just didn't make sense. poor writing. hope it gets better.

uh... i enjoyed the original alien, which i saw for the first time only a few years ago. strangely, i saw prometheus in the theater w an ex and i didnt realize it was part of the alien/aliens universe until after i saw it. it was alright.
didnt see any of the other alien(s) films.
in general, i enjoy some sci fi if its well done and not too insanely out there. the 04 battlestar galactica series is one of my top 5 shows of all time. (yes i realize thats a diff vibe of sci fi than the aliens series)
i thought the premise for this series is interesting but i really disliked the writing in the first two episodes. hopefully it gets better.

that perhaps explains some of it then
You should run, not walk, and watch Aliens. Its an all time classic action movie, on the tier with Terminator 2, etc
I don't love some of the Alien films after Aliens very much, but some are good.
Perhaps you don't like the childlike cyborgs in Alien Earth and how they are written? I can see that on some level. The rest of it is top tier for Alien fans.

i just dont think it makes sense to send the childlike cyborgs off on a potentially dangerous rescue mission with just a bleached out timothy olyphant to accompany them. the whole thing felt really weird. walking by a person literally on fire felt like absolute shit writing- any child or being with a child-like perspective would have insisted that they stop and help. the way they split up inside the ship made no sense. i also found it difficult to believe that once they realized they were dealing with aliens, that timothy olyphant's character wouldn't have immediately radio'd his boss for more support and paused the mission right then. and they didn't bring anything else they might need? there was other stuff that also didnt make sense. they were dead set on the chick never reconnecting with her brother but let her keep tabs on him and go on this mission?
all of it just felt like bad horror movie writing to me. ie, like a woman running up the stairs away from a killer instead of out the front door.
i didn't have an issue with the premise or world-building in the show: "deep space research vessel crashes into earth and releases murderous aliens" is cool. the idea of three different types of enhanced humans/melding of human and computer to create new beings has a lot of different and interesting directions it could take. oh look, now four different corporations are fighting it out for control of the universe is a pretty realistic path that humanity could take. i dont have an issue with any of that. i just have a really big issue with the poor writing of the characters and their decisions that made zero sense

some of the dialogue scenes seem a little "FX"-ey. Third ep was good but not like the first episode or even the second
I guess the cyborg chick is going to have some sort of mental link to the aliens
