Why are flat maps useful for navigation if the earth is actually round? If flat maps are better doesn't that imply that the earth that the maps are modeling is probably flat? |

You'd think the Navy or someone would be using 3D projections of globes to visualise where all of their shit is and to map out missile firing scenarios with perfect precision and no distortion but NOPE!
