Can anyone explain the odd Catholicism of Nick "totally not a fed" Fuentes?

1. Claims that he is Catholic, states that only Catholics go to heaven, no E Orthodox, no protestants; at the same time he does not really attend Mass, not interested in saints or feasts.
2. Claims that SSPX/FSSP are "too political", "schismatic" and he is "with Pope", "it's Novus Ordo baby"; at the same time, he he does not seem to support Pope's immigration views, or Pope's view on Orthodox and Protestant Christians' salvation.
Not sure how can anyone take this edgelord faggot seriously. His only coherent and noncontradictory view seem to be on "yammy yammy" pizzas and "yammy yammy" pastas. And steaks not being "his thing". Now that's coherent. Because "yammy yammy" pastas go well with scented candles.
P.S. Hope Tucker advertises "steaks for men" all day if Fuentes gets on his show. |

He would say he exhibits the virtues but doesn't go down the whole academic rabbit hole of studying all the Saints and the liturgy and all the theological debate stuff. His point is that he's a true believing Christian but not a complete nerd. It's OK to be a quasi lapsed Catholic if you truly believe in it and show up from time to time.
If you watch the episode after Charlie Kirk died he gives a eulogy where he explains the Gospel in detail and really hones in on the overarching message of Christianity. It's hard to say oh well he's not a real Christian because he doesn't have a favorite feast day. He's just not a nerd about these things and of course some eggheads like lex or C12 or FizzKidd who have studied everything possible about the church and are giga brains on the subject have deep Opinions on tridentine mass and sspx and are super involved in internal church politics are going to say well why aren't you 10x more into this than you are? Well it's OK to just be a 'regular' Catholic, you don't have to be some big nerd about it. |
