these people have the gifted hands it takes to get one of THE most prized surgical residencies, and they can take it two directions:
1. work on disabled kids and wounded vets, help acid attack victims from Bangladesh, basically just be a full time hero while working for a big university hospital
2. private clinic in LA getting paid to do Lara Trump's face
Guess which option the bulk of plastic surgeons want to choose

is there some kind of high school pathway for this, like parents putting their kids in advanced dissection courses? seems creepy as fuck but you gotta do it eventually.
i.e. "14 year old son killed a cat this morning. best summer surgical camp in dc area?"
also is this a conversation parents have? "he kind of scares me." "well, maybe we should steer him toward surgery..."
