China was probably licking their lips for a Kamala presidency. Trump is too jumpy for their liking, but easy to deal with like a child having a tantrum.

Trump ignited a trade war with China that will be like California wildfires-- very hard to put out

China is just beginning the big cliff of the one child policy, ie the oldest cohort of their baby boom is now in its late 60s/early 70s. It starts its peak in 2035 and doesn’t stop until after 2050, and during that period they will be working all their 70+ year olds to literal death and seeing much flatter or even negative growth. So the next decade will be pretty wild, and it seems like some kind of hot war confrontation over Taiwan and semiconductors is more likely than not. This will be the centrist Dems’ angle to beat back MAGA, ie that Trump’s impulsive, incoherent approach to confronting China has backfired and we need to progress from a Wild Man Theory approach back to a conniving Disraelian approach that weakens and isolates them with their loser klepto-petro-rump state allies ie Russia and Iran.

This is also why the entirety of elite U.S. government and business is so thirsty for AI to explode and for us to dominate it. If we have that to deploy against China (just as we had the cloud to deploy for the last 10 years) it will maintain our lead until their demographics can really help to constrain them. But the smart approach to the 2029-2040 period will be to prepare to concede Taiwan while isolating them and limiting their soft power as much as possible. See also, JD Vance was a terrible VP pick that dipshit failson Don Jr. pushed for and he has zero credibility as a strong man tough guy that can scare the Chinese in a full blown confrontation re Taiwan, and the rest of Trump’s foreign policy team (lol Hegseth, lol Rubio, lol Witkoff and lol rumored permanent NSA replacement Stephen Miller) is even worse. Ironically the only one who seems remotely plausible is the literal faggot Bessent.

remember the Manhattan project and the race to build the atomic bomb (military superiority)? well China is way ahead in the current race for technological superiority from raw earth materials to semiconductors to labor to land mass-- checkmate

Their raw earth minerals “lead” is a policy choice we have made to constrain our own access by burdening permitting and refusing to assume the environmental costs of refining in particular. A smart moderate Dem will go right at this and say we have to build our own supply chain and be the world leader and innovator in minimizing environmental impacts, as these are the building blocks of the future of the military and the economy, and Trump did jackshit to address it because he was dumb enough to think tariffs on fast fashion were going to constrain China. But in reality we don’t lack for our own deposits or access via our allies. This has seemed for a while like a good way for South America and Africa to level up their economies (and probably kill millions of their citizens with cancers and the like, just like we did in our various cancer alleys in Texas and Louisiana).

again, America and Europe are simply too far behind China to source raw earth materials on their own crucial for military and industry in real time -- we've lost the race and should sue for peace, or the West shuts down

It’s not a race it’s a negotiation as to whether we continue to outsource and pay them or bear the costs of finding/building out alternate suppliers. Rare earth processing isn’t semiconductors. There aren’t super technical lasers involved that only one company in the world can make. If China cuts us off too drastically we would have a period of a few years where we would have to make do with every other tool (stockpiles, refurbishing, restrictions on non-military/essential services) and the “decade” that it would supposedly take to stand up alternative supply chains would magically shrink to 18-24 months. It’s an advantage for China and a weakness for us and it’s annoying that Trump (and Biden and to some extent Obama) didn’t foresee this and take more steps to address it and strengthen our current negotiating position. But it’s not a permanent and immutable state of affairs. China has its own deposits but they haven’t conquered every country on the planet that also has them.

America took a wrong turn by acting in reliance of a stable supply chain of limiting factors-- now we all will pay dearly

China has a brief window of opportunity. They support Trump because he will accelerate America's decline to give them a chance at global domination
