LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — The FBI has concluded a two-day grid search operation near the Rock Island Campground in Leavenworth in an effort to locate Travis Decker and gather evidence related to the murder of his three daughters.

Decker is wanted for three state counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.

So far, no evidence has been discovered to indicate that Decker is alive or dead. Several items were recovered during the search, however, and are currently being examined to determine if they are related to the investigation, officials said.

Final results will take some time," FBI officials said. "Finding this potential evidence emphasizes the value in having various teams search an area multiple times, especially in such challenging conditions.

The search, which began on Monday, Aug. 25, involved more than 100 personnel who combed through over 247 acres of challenging terrain.

"A search of this magnitude and detail has not previously taken place in this area," FBI officials said. "We not only accomplished our goal of covering the entire area intended for this operation, but we also searched beyond the primary search perimeter."

The search area was thoroughly documented and mapped electronically, and that information was provided to the Chelan County Sheriff's Office and federal partners.

The search for Decker has gripped both Washington state and the nation for months, with hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours spent looking for the alleged murderer.

The investigation into the tragic deaths of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker confirmed that their father, Travis Decker, remains the sole suspect in their murders, with DNA evidence linking him and only him to the crime scene.

The bodies of the three sisters, ages 5, 8, and 9, were discovered on June 2, 2025, near the Rock Island Campground along Icicle Creek.

While Decker was always the lead suspect in the killings, on Aug. 18, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office reaffirmed him as the sole suspect in the crime following DNA testing of evidence.

Months after the crime, Decker's whereabouts remained unknown.

Local and federal law enforcement have searched for the 32-year-old father from the air and on the ground after the bodies of his daughters were discovered.

The girls were first reported missing on May 30 after Decker failed to return them to their mother as part of their court-ordered visitation plan.

Decker’s visits were limited to the boundaries of the Wenatchee Valley, with no overnight visits allowed.

The family's attorney said a judge last September recommended Decker get a psychiatric evaluation and treatment. His known mental health problems include PTSD, borderline personality disorder, and other trauma as a former Army Ranger.

While FBI Seattle led this most recent search in Leavenworth, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office is still the lead agency in the investigation.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward up to $20,000 for information leading directly to Decker's arrest. Officials said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you see Travis Decker, call 911 and do not attempt to contact or approach him.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals office, the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102, or USMS Tips at www.usmarshals.gov/tips.
