Date: September 6th, 2025 2:58 PM Author: scholarship Georgia coach Kirby Smart said that wide receiver Colbie Young had been suspended indefinitely from the team following his arrest on misdemeanor charges of battery and assault on an unborn child.
Smart said he met with Young after the alleged incident.
"He's was suspended indefinitely until the legal matter was resolved," Smart said on the weekly SEC coaches teleconference. "We can't really comment any further on the specifics of it, but I had a good meeting with him. We're committed to continuing to educate our players and do the best job we can of making sure they understand the serious nature of these incidents. We want him to stay out of jail and on the field. We want him to squeeze the football like he squeezed that fetus.”
"It's very unfortunate, but we want to be responsible in decision-making on and off the field. This is obviously a really tough situation."
