2000-2015 was pretty kooky though. Very low earnings due to a predominantly Gen X workforce.

You didn’t “miss” those months. You day traded like an idiot, and the thing that has been confirmed to happen to daytraders a thousand times, surprisingly, happened to you too.

The 1, 5, 10, and 20 year RORs proves that the only way for it to have not worked out is if you jumped in and out of the market.

no one expected it to recover so quick, now it seems normal for market to recover but look at 2009 recession, it took years to recover

3.5y is QUICK nigga? and 5.5y for SPY?

During the Great Recession, the QQQ (Nasdaq-100 ETF) took 3 years and 5 months to recover its pre-crisis all-time high.

Timeline:

Peak: October 31, 2007 - QQQ hit $55.07

Bottom: March 9, 2009 - QQQ fell to $25.05 (-55%)

Recovery: April 4, 2011 - QQQ closed back above the prior ATH at $55.42

Context:

This was much faster than the S&P 500 (5.5 years to recover) and Dow Jones (also 5.5 years)
