The FTC case led us here. The second MSFT put the deal through with no exclusives, their fate was sealed. Zoomers don’t embrace Scum in the same way as millennials so console sales have languished. The only way to recoup their investment is to sell Titles on every platform that will take them.

Why bother, you ask? Because Plan B is just them expediting Plan A. Having Everything in the Cloud and somehow that makes it profitable, like they do with everything else. "If we can get $14 a month for fucking PowerBI licenses, then certainly gaming is worth more than that," they think. They have no idea how Poor gamers are. Especially THEIR gamers. Look at the Series X vs S sales split. It's unbelievable. Series X proper is scarcer than Saturn or Wii U. But they're skipping the part where they get the Losers hooked on their product. They're skipping the halcyon 2011-2016 days of Netflix streaming where it had everything and cost $8 or whatever, which gives it a halo effect so people don't notice that it sucks now. Remember Bird Box? A triumph. That was 7 years ago btw. Gamepass is burned into doodikoff's geriatric brain. He thinks of it as a great value because it used to be $10/month. He has great memories of playing Gears 3 (30 minutes total), Ninja Gaiden Black (couldn't beat first boss), and listening to the Halo menu screen theme but not playing. But there aren't enough doodikoffs to sustain the service at $30/month. And the doodkioffs of the world are poor. And they don't get laid.

Btw, Phil has no self-respect. He's Gen X af. Usually when people over your head start cutting you out of decisions in your org, you're supposed to resign.
