This shit is insane. As much as I love and worship China if their TFR really is 1.0 they will only have 10.80% of their pop in 90 years and only 2.45% in 150 years. Thats furking crazy

Birthrates did dramatically start to rise in subsaharan Africa and other lesser developed places early-to-mid 20th century as more food and resources became available, but those too have started declining. The population boom is entirely from people living longer, not more babies, and as we are reaching a plateau on extending life expectancy, the declining birthrates will begin to catch up, and global population will begin to fall. |
