If you're classified as a "borrower" or "shoel" there's an inexplicable exception to your liability over the watched object
If the owner is with you even if you've already transferred possession and are in use of the object and this object is damaged or destroyed you're not legally obligated to replace or compensate for it

The reason probably is because the borrower cannot be considered a full bailee when the owner is present.
