In the corner, Jesse Pinkman, Walter’s reluctant Of Counsel, muttered, “Yeah, science, b—” but Walter cut him off with a glance that said, Don’t ruin this.

Tuco threw the brief into the air, his manic energy filling the room. “This is why we’re undefeated! This is why—wait.” His tone darkened, and the room tensed. He leaned across the table toward Walter, his grin fading. “You didn’t draft this in Times New Roman, did you?”

Jesse muttered under his breath, “Yo, I wrote the appendix.”

Walter allowed himself the faintest smirk. “They won’t just quit. They’ll move to Belize.”
