on the opposite end of the spectrum, a few years ago i became severely depressed and brushed my teeth only once or twice a month for around two years. spent about $6k altogether after insurance fixing all the problems that caused.

no, i literally had the xo soft tooth meme. a molar was rotting out of my mouth. tons of pain. there was so much decay that it was barely a tooth and had to be pulled out, and i needed an implant. altogether the implant was over $3k.

Same, also 5 years. Just told I had some gum irritation

I had 7 small cavities the dentist was monitoring that didn't get worse in that time

if you brush your teeth everyday you don't need to go to a dentist except maybe for occasional cleanings once every couple years

chew a clove of garlic daily and indulge in mastic gum frequently and you will see a major decrease in dental issues ime

I did the same and he was like "your teeth look great! but WOW you're behind on your xrays, we're required by the state dentist board to keep these on file so we're going to have to take a lot of them for some fucking reason"

they will get their $$$ one way or another its sick

it's a bimodal issue. if you're healthy and brush your teeth, floss, and scrape plaque regularly you don't really need to go outside of an emergency. but some people have tons of problems and once it starts it never really stops, so they're in there all the time.
