I grew some really ugly heirloom tomatoes one year and they were delicious. You can also get all kinds of crazy seeds and live plants from GRIN for free paid for by the government. One time they sent me a specimen of live turfgrass to try in my yard. You just have to say it’s for “research” and they ship it and everything for free.

I'm very well aware. Last year, we gave away more than half of our haul. This year, we'll probably give away 75% and can the rest. We are going to have SO much shit come july.

We actually ran out of canned tomatoes early this winter just because I used it in pretty much everything requiring tomatoes, like bbq sauce, ketchup, and pizza sauce.

We just had our final frost of the year a couple weeks ago. It was in the high 30s last week, too, so this season got off to a very slow start. Nevertheless, it's going to pick up FAST so I'm probably going to need to more aggressively fertilize & prune.

Oh, we also decided to give strawberries a shot this year! I have four of those (the everbearing ones)

Will do. Strawberries tend to do *really* well here in June/early July. I have a feeling these are going to LOVE my flower bed. I don't have to worry about birds/squirrels/chipmunks/raccoons at all, either, because my dog keeps them away.

We had a coon in the yard a few months ago. I shot the fucker out of a tree with a .22 & threw it in the trash.

it is. I just had to do some easy work on it: Several fuses went, so I went and replaced those plus checked all the fuses in my car while I had the battery disconnected. I also had to remove the front passenger door trim & inside panel and replaced the window regulator. Probably an hour of work total.

If I went to a repair shop, it would've cost me close to $1,000. I did it myself for under $100.
