The end goal needs to be excercise, healthy diet, lots of time in sun outside (both morning and afternoon), regular sleep schedule and avoiding GC chemicals in food / water / environment.
Still do the TMS -- but use it as a way to start implementing the above.

Brother I am at my wits end. The only thing that keeps me functional/ sane is adderall but my dosage has gotten so high it has induced severe life destroying anhedonia.
Right now I have to get off adderall most likely and then try a couple classes of drugs and do 3 months of therapy
At that point if all those don’t work (they won’t trust me) my insurance will spring for TMS or ECT
I figure I’ll try TMS before ECT but I’m so fatalistic about everything these days
Where do you go to learn about options

unfortunately there is no centralized hub for info on these emerging techs. I am actually working on one that will launch in June.
stay strong, brother. can you afford TMS out of pocket? many doctors will finance it at no interest. it is a crying shame that payers will force patients to take 3 or 4 brain-frying antidepressants before paying for TMS knowing full well that TMS is empirically more effective than any SSRI. full stop.
Some people have had success with fisher wallace device:

Studies show it is more effective than placebo but not more effective than TMS. TMS is, IMHO, the gold standard at the moment.

it depends on the individual and severity of the condition.
TMS = non-invasive, fewer side effects than ECT, generally second-line treatment. 40-60% effective, 20-30% remission rates
ECT = more invasive. literally triggering a seizure. reserved for the most intense cases of depression. can have serious side effects (memory loss, confusion). 70-90% effective in treating depression but 50-80% remission rates.
