Anyone taking Dorf for Fed Courts? I didn't have him for Civ Pro, but have heard mixed things about his teaching style.

He's pretty unclear, but he's very funny, and pretty obviously a genius. Also, he's one of those profs that doesn't make any sense while you're taking his class, but his way of thinking sort of sticks with you. That is, he starts to make sense months later. I hated the experience of taking civ pro with him, but I appreciate it in retrospect.

I'm not looking forward to the 24 hour final exam in it, but I think I'll be taking it.

Moving aside from the Dorf issue: Are you a 2L or a 3L?

If you're a 2L, there's no need to take Fed Courts now, since it's a really hard class and you don't need to have taken it before clerkship interviews. Take it as a 3L if you can.

If you like taking risks, however, it would be badass to go into clerkship interviews with an A in fed courts. But yeah, probably not worth the risk.

Dorf is clearly brilliant, but in class he has a way of making things more difficult than they need to be. Granted, I had him for Con Law, which is a muddy area, but instead of helping you wade through the mud, he pretty much tosses you in it and tries to drown you.

He's funny and entertaining, but you may not understand 50% of what he's talking about.

The CLS Registrar does it again (i.e., make the office look like a bunch of idiots):

"Please be reminded that Spring Pre-Registration closes at 5pm on Monday, November 20. If you do not pre-register by the deadline, you will have to wait until the change of program period (September 5-September 19) to add/drop classes. The lottery will be run later this summer and schedules will be posted in Lawnet in late August."

What's even worse is that they have the correct information further down the email and no one proofreading wondered why the dates didn't match up.
