pretty weird how the lawyer dorks here always complain that trades work costs "way more than it should" but all the trades guys charge the same prices. there seems to be some kind of mysterious cartel that all tradesmen are part of where they all coordinate to set their pricing much higher than "what it should cost"

get five estimates to learn different approaches and techniques, then DIY. bring in low cost labor to do heavy lifting.
for truly high end masonry, woodwork, etc. you're fucked and have to pay big money
