The Corvette also has a reputation for being an old man car. Old guys that wear ugly New Balances & jerk off about how their car is 1 of 32 made that year in that color with that specific set of options. They hardly drive their Corvettes at all, and certainly not anywhere near their potential. An enormous amount of Corvette buyers would have been better off buying a Caddy CT5 with the 2 liter.
