What will really help is when the collective West's artillery production reaches 2.5-3 million 155 mm shells a year next year. The supplemental just passed provides 5 billion to expand artillery production, and they apparently started before passage since they expect 1 million shells a year in the US by this time next year.
Plus, the USAI aid is giving Ukraine a contractual right to most of those shells, whether Trump likes it or not. |

He's likely to take the Donbas land that he annexed eventually but when the history of the war is written it will emphasize that Russia tried but failed to take Kiev and Odessa. |

I distinctly remember posting on XO on invasion night "I just hope some Ukrainian special forces put up a good fight for the honor of Ukraine." I recall the responses being skeptical that even that would happen - everyone thought it would be like Crimea, which fell without a shot being fired. |
