I've been reading this book about time travel called "Replay".

Protagonist dies of a heart attack in 1988 at the age of 44. He wakes up and BAM! He's 18 again. So the entire story is about him having to re-live his entire life and dying at 44 and starting all over again at 18.

The first couple of times he restarts he uses his knowledge to make a bunch of money. But then he starts to fall into depression because he knows that no matter what he does, everything will get erased and he'll have to start over again.

Trust me, you'll stay ZIPPED UP when he gets to the sex scenes.

Imagine your HS Language Arts teaching trying to write erotica.

Wtf. He gets depressed because he gets to be 18 again and live his best life? This sounds like flame.

How many times can you live your "best life" when you KNOW you'll die at 44 and everything you built will be erased?

I ask because I'd like to find more stories like this.

The story is kinda tragic because ass soon as he restarts the first time, he realizes that he'll never see his daughter ever again. Then he realizes that there's no point in EVER forming babby because he'll just die and it'll all be erased.

Because his first several "Replays" start when he's 18 yrs old. Even in the timelines where he meets his "original" wife again and they get married, there's no way to recreate the conditions that formed babby the first time.

Then there are some timelines where he decides to just become a rich CHAD and travel around the world pumping and dumping sluts and never gets married.

He could have a kid at 18 and watch them live to 26. If he played it right, he could see his grandkids. Again, what in the actual fuck is this flame?

holy shit. Do you know how fucking unstable your average 18-19 yr old woman is?

Then you want to make her a teenage mother in the 1960's??

LOL, that's a recipe for a fucking dumpster fire.

Plus, there is the issue that the 26 year old that he has spent a lifetime raising and loving will never exist in his next "Replay"

To be such a short story, it was fucking great to read.

The only reason I saw the movie was because it starred Tom Cruise.
