Many women tend to look for "success" in guys. So, often that peak is sometime in a man's 30s. It's rarely after 35, though, unless the guy is very good looking or very successful.

in asking for a pre-nut your man is basically:
A)saying he thinks a divorce is possible already B)he thinks so little of your character that he can se you trying to take him to the cleaners if you were to divorce.
It doesn't say much for his feelings about you or your relationship.
It's the same thing with a paternity test. Even if I had been faithful and was certain my husband was the dad I would be devastated because asking for a paternity test is basically saying "I think you're capable of not allowing fucking around with other man behind my back but I also think you're so dishonest that you would try to pass your love-child off as mine." if you're going to spend the rest of your life with someone you should obviously trust them. You should trust them with your fucking life. You shouldn't be worried about them fucking other people and trying to steal your money and shit. If you feel this way about the person, why are you with them? |

I would say this situation would be untenable except for the fact that premarital property is separate and it doesn't seem like that much money is at stake. It's not something that should prevent OP from marrying though and she also shouldn't take it as an insult or indication of his mistrust for her in particular. Guys that have been through a divorce and dealt with the legal system are inevitably more cautious and bitter towards all members of the opposite sex.
If worst comes to worst, just hand-write a simple 1 pager and sign it in front of a mutual friend or something. |

My parents never had a prenup and I can wholly say my mom is kind of a psychopath and tried to ruin our family financially as much as possible during and after their divorce. I think prenups should be viewed as just a promise you won't try to screw each other in case things go bad, after being on the receiving end with my own family being torn apart because of 'money,' I can say I don't think you should be ashamed to ask the person you love that to promise not to screw you over, but on the other hand maybe its not as romantic or natural. Making it a deal breaker is silly though because I believe you can offer it with completely good intentions. |
