* Federal clerkship in Columbus, Georgia; Judge Land is responsible for the criminal and civil dockets in Columbus and for half of the civil docket in Athens, Georgia

* Two year term to begin in August 2013; start and end dates are flexible

* Salary range: starts at JSP-11, step 1 - "Rest of United States" (see https://oscar.symplicity.com/drupal/content/qualifications-salary-and-benefits for more information)

Judge Land will begin accepting applications on March 19, 2012. Applications are due on or before March 22, 2012.

Interviews will take place in March or April 2012.

Application Should Include:

* Cover letter

* Resume

* Law school transcript or grade report

* Two letters of recommendation, at least one from a law school professor. If an applicant is unable to obtain letters of recommendation from law school professors because the applicant's law school follows the federal hiring plan, the applicant may provide Judge Land with the name(s) of recommenders instead of actual recommendation letters.

* PLEASE DO NOT SEND WRITING SAMPLES

Applicant Qualifications:

* Top one-third of law school class

* Law Review or comparable journal

* 2L, 3L, or alumni
