Let's just be honest and admit WFH is terrible from the business owner POV

More or less cr but it’s more complex than that
It isn’t really that wfh is strictly bad for business owners. It’s more like most white collar employees of most businesses contribute very little to the business. Almost everyone who can ostensibly “work from home” is either doing an hour or two of useful work a day or contributing basically nothing at all to the production of the business outside of some kind of semi tangible thing that is separate from their base job description. Think of a person hired for their industry connections or hired because they’re physically attractive or hired to meet affirmative action quotas
Wfh has laid bare this reality: the reality that a few people do almost all the useful work in an organization, and everyone else is either superfluous, occasionally useful for minor things but not a real full time contributing member, or actively gets in the way of the productive people but has to be kept around for some reason other than the core and stated mission of the org
The biggest risk to businesses of employees working from home isn’t lost productivity. It’s that allowing wfh exposes this uncomfortable reality to everyone even more than it has already been exposed. It’s a morale killer and makes members of the org hate and resent each other and hate and resent the org itself for being essentially fraudulent when compared to its ostensible purpose and structure (group of honest people each contributing to a shared goal and being compensated and treated appropriately based on one’s individual contribution to that goal)
