I have two payments, but will be down to one soon enough. Payments suck.
When it comes to car, I have bought several and have learned some things over the years.
When you go to buy a car, realize that it can get very expensive very quickly. I try to buy no more car than I need. So I'm looking at base models without any accoutrements and I'm not looking at performance, style, power, or any of that other crap. I'm trying to spend less, not more.
Second thing is that cash deals are faster, more efficient, and really the only way to go. I had to finance one car because of the circumstances and I hate it. Buying with cash is important.
Third thing that is super important is to NEVER wait until you NEED to get a new car to start shopping for one. Always shop around on model first and try to get a low price.
Fourth, get a bid from a place like Carvana or Carmax before you go to the dealership to negotiate your car so you have an idea of what you could sell the car you no longer want for.
Fifth, avoid any warranties and add-ons. Reject the dealership's efforts to charge more for add-ons like floor mats (who the fuck needs those) or door striping or window tinting.
If you do steps 1-5, you will do okay at the dealership. You may still overpay, but we're talking about overpaying by $1-2k, not $30k like some goyim.
