Like, if it's at all worthwhile, good quality, and what I/other people are likely to want, of course the seller will get what they can without chasing away too many people.

I would walk into a home goods store of some kind, maybe Wal Mart, go right to the cheapest thing, then MAYBE move up from there. That's my go-to strategy.

But those perpetual sale things are just because the price was raised, then lowered.

I don't haggle, or at least I never have to my memory in the M.E.

Back in America now. I see a promotion and immediately think, "Okay, what's wrong with it? Defective, rotten, damaged? Come on."

Oh man this was my life growing up. Every clothing purchase was always always always some crap on clearance.

I mean, my parents meant well, but that life lesson backfired violently.

So now their fiscal responsibility has wrought a prodigal son? Who cares if people mocked your New Balance shoes, they were practical as fuck.

I wear New Balances now. Very good shoes and the rumor that they're made in America is soothing to me.

I'll put it this way: I'll live like a welfare recipient when I'm actually on welfare.

I don't know, a sale is a sale to me. The idea of paying less money for something that is usually more money is in no way unappealing to me and my parents loaded me up with shirts from Target growing up too.

I also don't like being told what to buy. It's almost never just "Everything in the store is 20% off" unless they raised prices by 25% shortly beforehand... it's "yeah that funky crap over there is 20% off". These sales aren't charity. A lot of it is loss leaders.
