In-house: Rate my friday

Date: June 2nd, 2023 10:42 AM Author: chestnut unholy principal's office Made coffee at 8am and played with dog. Browsed internet and fed dog. Saw wife off to work and took dog to park. Checked emails on phone and sent a link on teams to the group at 853am. Back to house and made v nice scrambled eggs and had protein shake. Quick chat with jr on an issue they have on a deal...first substantive email sent to finance around 10:45. Call with finance at 11:30. Went to big park with dog at noon. Went to butcher and grabbed a steak for dinner, veg shop, wine shop and walked back to house. Made lunch at 1:30. Chased for approval from outside company on something and updated deal that we won't hear until late next week earliest - soz.
3:30pm and im sitting in the sun about to play some Warzone until wife gets home. Just told jr. team to take the rst of the afternoon to relax - no fires will be put out this afternoon. Will walk to dinner tonight around 6:30 - first nice dinner since back from Holiday last week. I won't think about work until Monday at 8:30am. |

No one i know with kids is happy. They grimace a smile but all are miserable. Having to deal with other parents seems like a miserable fucking path right now at least. We're finally pretty secure financially. The cost of having a kid and having a somewhat decent life is fucking ridiculous nowadays and id like to enjoy some peace and stability for a while. Ive always wanted to be a father etc. and maybe later, but right now I'm really fucking content being an amazing uncle to a load of kids my other family popped out on both sides - super close with all my cousins and their kids as well.
Everyone in the family is distracted with their lot and some of the elders are taking a turn. Im taking over majority care of my father who has parkinsons and had cancer a while back (in remission). I live in another country but have been flying back and forth regularly to go to doctor's visits - i see him more now than when i did living in the same city - got a nurse / assistance for him who comes to his ranch and helps coordinate everything. With all that shit going on, im trying to leave my corporate gig and start my own thing etc... when I have a few moments I really just like to chill, smoke a J and play some warzone. I'd be (or will be) a great father, but right now I'm happy not being one. |
