Shot a real 101 in golf today and feel fantastic

I took a lesson last week to fix my driver slice and while it has helped a ton I'm hooking it short a decent amount, I'd say 40% of the time. But that still feels better than playing out of the shit.
I'm an excellent putter, Garmin says I'm 81st percentile overall and 91st percentile for my handicap. Had three one-putts today.
For reference my last full round I scored a 128. |

I also saw this video from mrshortgame where he advocated using a 7 iron as your main chipping club. That's also been really great for me because it allows me to get it close enough to where I'm two putting at worst. |

Sometimes that means laying up to avoid going past the hole on the green, where you'd face a long downhill putt. Sometimes it means chipping it to the right or left of the hole and getting just the right bounce. Sometimes it means clubbing up or down when you're uphill or downhill or if it's windy. I played a real nice course (host of multiple majors) a couple years ago and got matched with a 70 yo couple who both probably shot 75. At 40+, there are few sport (-like, physical games) that we can continue to improve at for decades. You can’t play your best basketball or lift your heaviest weights at 60yo, but you could play your best golf. Also, the inter generational potential is fantastic. My dad and I played together for 25 years before his health got in the way. I have friends from college I’ve been golfing with for twenty years now too.
