It was the last time period in which people could let loose and go out in an environment of implicit trust and do stuff like get drunk and wander home with an anonymous stranger and hook up and have it be a fun memory for everyone
Like not only can kids now not find a partner but they can’t even go out and have fun anymore. Public spaces are extremely hostile and brown and expensive and people are recording you constantly in a crabs in the bucket panopticon just waiting for you to do something that’s barely over the line of absolute boring normiedom so they can share the video everywhere in exchange for 5 minutes of phantom “clout” and ruin your life for no reason |
