He'll learn that when someone waves around a piece of paper and says it's a contract, or a policy, that is just a piece of paper, and there's a big difference between having a contract and having the balls to try and do something about it, especially when it's a service-based business trying to enforce an unreasonable and unconventional revenue generating scheme after no services are desired and after notice of termination is given. That's not the kind of thing that'd be easy to enforce. Also, underlying all of this is the fundamental principle of contract law, which is that freedom of contract requires a mutual agreement, and that can be changed at any time, unilaterally or bilaterally, and whether there are consequences for such a change is a different issue.
