feels like a direct upgrade to the unpretentious, monolithic, and arch-american cliquot smoothness and consistency of Campbell's basic soup offerings

there's a "creamy tomato" which is similar to a bisque

the pasta fă-zhûl is pretty good. the chicken orzo isn't bad either

historically it's been a dumping ground for inferior rated ingredients. it's been a while but "the jungle" had a part on this iirc

this isn't always the case now but it still happens. what's nice about these is that they come in a transparent glass jar so you can see what's inside before you buy---first prepackaged mass market soup that did this, afaik

no, seems evil. also jews are obsessed with nasty preserved fish so that's pretty suspect too

fish in particular is pretty sus to keep in a tin or mechanically process and if you've ever cleaned many of them you see why first-hand

of all the things to not get canned soup has to be up there, you can make so much soup for no money with just enough effort to cut up an onion and watch it a few minutes then throw shit in

good soup takes hours or even the better part of a day to make. i agree that most canned soups are terrible (anything with beef comes to mind) but there are a couple of exceptions

the better part of a day is stretching it you can do a lot in an hour and a half, but soup is a lot of things so it can do whatever you would like it to do, such is the virtue of soup

making stock is messy and takes quite a bit of time. took about two days for a beef stock last time i did it

if i have homemade stock i'm going to make my own soup but if i'm using store bought there isn't a ton of difference in the end product, depending on the brand/soup type

jfc, yes making great homemade stock takes forever but if your other option is canned soup you can take quite a few in between routes wouldn't you agree?
