I didn't wanna be the one to say this, but white people simply need to accept worse on average life outcomes than they would've gotten during past times, worse even than they would be getting in the present if we as a society were only concerned with perfectly equal opportunities. For race relations to heal in this country, they will need to accept that we must be given structural advantages for a very long time, just as they enjoyed in the past. It sucks. I get it. But for every law school you get rejected from in favor of a PoC with lower stats, that person mightve suffered hundreds of instances of racism in their lives, which really compound in the long term. Please, please think about that before you react with anger. This might be too much for many of you to accept at this time. You will truly never fully understand what we go through. We are being admitted because we are qualified *and* can diversify an otherwise very white, straight, cis gendered space. It’s important that people from different walks of life are represented in admissions. Not only because the long history of leaving us out but we know based on research having a diverse population is beneficial.
