The times I visited, it was great--everyone was quite friendly, I liked the small feel of it, and the area is very pretty. I strongly considered transferring. It felt a lot like my HS.
Despite what other XOXOers might think, tons of people from there are successful. He started a company on his own and just recently sold it, making a nice profit. I also know the alumni network there is great, as he was able to solicit quite a bit of his funding through it.
The whole Williams/Amherst rivalry is a bit strange, though. I have never met a Williams student who has complained about Amherst. However, when I mentioned to a professor in undergrad one time my good friend is at Williams (the prof went to Amherst), the prof replied, "Oh, I am sorry to hear that." It was strange! |
