Your classmates. Psychotic, aspie, and tunnel-visioned. The worst aspect of all: these will be your referral sources going forward.

Also add in that most are fundamentally mediocre people who are nonetheless tremendously impressed with themselves. Around half have some kind of social irregularity or deep-seated immaturity. A much larger percentage are hugely invested in the idea that their careers will be special and the general populace will bow down before their mighty professional status of LAWYER, and they will get upset if it suggested that this is not congruent with reality. The people also trend from plain to ugly, but unfortunately most law students will be sequestered among themselves for at least the first year, and this will cause many to develop lowered standards.

The guys are heavily skewed toward self-aggrandizing beta (in the XO sense) dipshits with dreams of wealth and politics. The women are skewed toward mincing shrews with 20+ years of emotional baggage due to never being the hot/fun girl. Many of them would curb-stomp all of their peers for a chance at the mythical biglaw/clerkship/city prosecutor job where the envision themselves conquering the world while also making a pile of cash and looking very cool and sophisticated while doing so.

Around a third of these people seem to have brutal gas at all times and a larger percentage don't brush their teeth regularly. Anyone who attends law school should spend several months prior developing a strong olfactory resistance to coffee breath and lingering BO.

I had this one gunner in my class who the professor would just fucking laugh at for answering so many questions. It got to the point where nobody else bothered answering. The gunner would actually interject at random intervals and finish the professors sentences. Some how, midway through the term, a rival appeared. It turned into a competition between these two. I saw the first aspie often, as he lived near me. Anytime he would go from point A to point B, he'd walk then quickly run...then walk and quickly run. Sometimes he would do this weird skip thing. Its hard to describe though. He also used a camping backpack to carry his books around.

Did you ever have blondes that would put on the "I am a complete slut and don't do any work" facade, but then get really aggressive when it came to knowing shit.

THE WORST PART IS THAT EVERYONE IS TRYING TO RUN DISPOSITIONAL COUNTER PLANS IN LAW SCHOOL WHEN WE ALL KNOW THAT CONDITIONAL COUNTER PLANS ARE SUPERIOR BECAUSE THEY INCREASE EDUCATION

Turn-Both Condo and Dispo are bad for debate. Unconditional is the only route towards educational debate.

Next off, K on policy leads to aging white women.

1. Turn/ Unconditionality forces debates about trivial and settled arguments which is bad for education and b) conditionally is superior because we learn about more subjects, c) conditionality is best because it's most real world: Congress might consider different arguments at different times -- this makes our educational benefit even better

1. Essence of debate is to pick sides. Unconditionality is the only way to access the essence.

B. Wrong. Uncond encourages depth. Depth>breadth.

C. Debate is a game. Not a political imitation. If opponents want to pretend to be policymakers they can go do mock UN.

Conditionality Bad

A. Absolute strategy skew, I could spend precious 2AC time straight turning the CP and they can still kick it in seconds

B. Justifies advocating the permutations... if you dont want to pull the trigger at least give us some leeway on the permutation

C. Creates multiple worlds, allowing the neg to arbitrarily switch between SQ and CP, proves we can never compete with the CP, and it justifies multiple plan texts which kills their ground voter for education

CP theory debates were always fucking ridiculous because every argument has a silly counter-arg and I only won if you would drop something

Bro I miss this shit so much, but at the same time I'm so glad I don't have to do this shit on my weekends. I absolutely despised insufferable faggots that would go all in on theory in the neg block. Once ran a "debate is bad" aff. That was a fucking disaster.

Exactly. As long as the defense simply responds to all args, your set.

-That feeling of standing under a hot shower after a long weekend of debate.

-That feeling of indigestion mid round from the 4 dollar a slice pizza.

Nice man, nice. I also liked the really cold bus rides home at night after a long tournament. I got my first handjob from a girl who did speech on our team when I was 15. I came and she wiped it all under the seat.

Were you guys any good? TOC? NFL?

Lol that's funny bro. I was super aspie when I started debate. So my first year I found this chick. We were "in love" but best friends. We never did anything. lulz. I finally started breaking the aspie shell. And I started recruiting the hotties. Laid pipe on 2 of them. The trick was laying game early, bc these girls would always leave the team after like 3 weeks bc debate wasn't cool. Hottest girl in HS that I fucked was from debate.

Team was underfunded to go out of state. We'd do well at local and some state tournament. You?

Same. Way underfunded. We did get to NFLs 3 times, though, because my partner and I were beasts. No TOC, although we got one bid our senior year.

Great memories, definitely learned a lot. Was doing master's level research at age 15, and that helped me in life. A "rags to riches" debate story, as we fucking sucked my freshmen and sophomore (first semester) years, but got a lot better at the end. Semi-final round of the state tournament my senior year and got far into the NFL tournament.

In the end, I wish perhaps I took it less seriously because it started to become a 40+ hour a week obsession and hurt things in my life around ages 16-18. I started to hate school work and developed a BIGLAWYER grinding type mentality because I was doing so much damn work.

Right on bro. I learned so much from debate. Without a doubt, I learned more by doing debate than I did learning shit in HS. The research skills, critical thinking skills, speech skills, and 'bullshitting' skills are definitely the biggest I took away. But also keeping up with politics, understanding framework (always laughed at how many similarities there are with this and civ pro), and learning about philosophies.

Interesting. I actually had the opposite route as you. First two years, took it seriously as fuck. Didn't have 40 hour weeks, but definitely spent more time necessary. I remember choosing to do debate research over school homework.

Maybe there was less work at your school. At mine, 3L was reasonable, but 2L was fucking horrific--incredibly tedious and time consuming, and the subject matter was inevitably boring or obnoxiously liberal. Also, assignment timing was unreasonable and arguably callous.
