Do you guys prefer Early Console Gen or Late Console Gen?

I've always been a late gen guy. Titles like Mario 3 and Mega man 6 hold up. MGS3. GTA5. I think Mid-Gen is the Pinnacle usually, no doubt about it, but the question is whether Early or Late Gen is superior.
Early gen is good for Engineering showcases and not much else imo. The exceptions are N64 and Dreamcast which blew their loads quite early. N64 had all but No Games and Late Gen was MISERABLE. N64 had the worst late-gen of any Console in history. Saturn had the best. Radiant Silvergun, Burning Rangers, and Panzer Dragoon Saga were all 1998 releases.
