Would the economy be in a better place if the fed had continued its tapered raising of rates up to 4.75% or whatever back in 2017 and never cut rates at all throughout Covid? If the Fed had done that and maybe not just created so much money out of thin air then maybe the country would be stronger, more cohesive, and resilient to the challenges that are presenting themselves now and which will continue. |

You're referring to an SCE housing survey that captures what people/consumers think will happen. Literally polling households to get a sense of how much they feel rents and mortgage rates will rise.
If you look at the historical accuracy of these public sentiment surveys they usually overestimate future challenges dramatically. |
