Wild experience |
Date: October 21st, 2026 1:37 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan Some takeaways from this for anyone who cares:
-Long hair makes it difficult to exercise and do physical work/activity. This seems obvious ofc but it really does get in the way. I never found any solutions that gave me the same feeling of full freedom and flexibility that you have with short normal male hair
-Long hair is annoying maintenance. I have especially thick hair so it was even more difficult. You have to brush it all the time. I didn't shed much but this is definitely a thing for women as we all know. One more thing to clean up
-Long hair keeps your head and face a bit warmer in winter. I think this is probably why pre-modern Scandinavian men wore longer hair a lot
-Women prefer short hair on men. Already since I got it cut, I notice the difference in the way women look at me and treat me. And I had very attractive long hair imho. Some women might say they like long hair - don't believe them. It's the same false self-reporting women always do. They like big, muscular, masculine men with short hair and chiseled features, period
Anyways that's all. It was an interesting experience that I've always been curious about. I wouldn't recommend it. You're not even "flexing" on baldmos - you look better than them by keeping it short but with a full head of hair |

Date: October 29th, 2026 5:24 PM Author: SNOOP ZOGGY ZOG Let me give you a well-established fact that it's not reported generally in our culture, when women are on the pill birth control they like men who are somewhat feminine, and when they're not on the pill they want a warrior. That's a basically a direct quote for more than one woman who's talked about the subject. That's because the pill fools the body into thinking that you are pregnant and when you're pregnant you want a man who can help you build a nest for your baby, you don't want a warrior. Date: October 21st, 2026 1:47 PM Author: Passionate grizzly hominid do you think chicks liked it when it was more shoulder length or a little shorter
half way down back is long as hell, they probably thought "this guy must be in a shitty metal band" or something |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 1:52 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan I don't think they liked either. Personally, I thought it looked better when it was longer. Toward the end it was a little too long but I had already made the decision to cut it off by then anyway
I thought Aragorn length would be best, and it probably is, but my hair is very straight and not slightly curly like his (maybe he used curlers for the movies?). You kind of need the little bit of curliness for it to hold shape. I mean maybe I could have pulled that off but I just never got that deep into it |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 2:02 PM Author: Passionate grizzly hominid cr long straight hair sounds like a pain in the ass as described itt.
aragorn length works pretty well if youve got some natural wave. im probably growing mine out to that length again |

Date: October 21st, 2026 1:46 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan Agreed but I think for some guys who have less attractive facial structure in various ways, facial hair can be good to hide it or change the overall shape of the head and face to look better
I assume there is looksmaxxing scholarship on this |

Date: October 21st, 2026 1:45 PM Author: Stirring Obsidian Office ive been growing mine out for about that long too but i never wear it down anymore because my hair is so thick and wavy. i figure i might as well just cut it off soon because of the inconvenience of washing it (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914210&forum_id=2#50200080) |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 1:47 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan Bro my hair was so thick that I was never even really able to wash it all the way through. Like I'd use multiple handfuls of shampoo trying to work it all the way through everywhere and it was just impossible to get everything. I never figured it out (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914210&forum_id=2#50200087) |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 1:50 PM Author: ferengi your hair is probably low-porosity, which is a sign of good hair health. does it take a long time to get wet and a long time to dry? you may need hotter water to permeate the cuticles. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914210&forum_id=2#50200096) |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 1:53 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan Yes to both. I've always had duck hair where water just rolls right off my hair. Very hard to get it wet all the way through and then once it's wet it's so saturated and heavy (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914210&forum_id=2#50200110) |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 2:01 PM Author: ferengi yeah, high vs. low porosity is a natural feature of hair but also related to health (things like heat and bleach damage hair and make it higher porosity). mine is also low porosity and it's annoying bc i have to shower early in the day for it to be dry and at its most voluminous when i go out.
if you haven't already, i would try rinsing with warmer water at the beginning, which makes it easier for water to permeate |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 2:07 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan Well it's gone now lol but I'll keep that in mind for my hair care in general even though it's pretty short now, ty (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914210&forum_id=2#50200138) |

|
Date: October 21st, 2026 2:32 PM Author: Passionate grizzly hominid how common is it to have some of your hair a lot more porous than other parts
like part of it dries and curls up pretty quick and other parts stay wet forever |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 2:36 PM Author: ferengi do they have different curl patterns? https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0055/5859/9754/files/Odele_Blog_CurlTypeChart.jpg?v=1752081487
if they do, that would affect the porosity. unrelated to hair health in that case - the further right you get on that chart, the more like gaps in the surface for water to get thru afaik |
|
Date: October 21st, 2026 2:42 PM Author: Passionate grizzly hominid yeah like from 2a to 3a.

Date: October 21st, 2026 2:46 PM Author: Genius Bear on the loose in Japan Yeah kinda. Also it didn't fit with my self-conception and self-image very well. I'm a masculine, straightforward, honest, clean cut guy, who physically carries and moves himself around decisively. The long hair just didn't fit with that. It's hard to explain with words but some people might know what I'm talking about. I'm just not a hippie counter culture type at all (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914210&forum_id=2#50200245) |
