professionally i'm actually doing ok but the regret gnaws at me and outside of work, not even entirely related, i just feel without purpose or care or direction. always had a powerful direction and something to be motivated about until now, now i'm just "there" as an increasingly middle-aged white collar dude. |

I give physical advice in response to topics like this because there are often physical causes for mental afflictions, and clean living often helps ease those enough for further clarity (e.g. low T is often a significant cause of clinical depression in men). If those aren't issues for you, and you can't find it in yourself to care about anything, I'm really not sure what you think poasters can provide for you. |

it's as though i've arrived at the opposite conclusion from yours, if you have the opportunity to gun for big money then you better damn well do that until you've set yourself free lest you lose your chance to escape the trap of working life. can't enjoy this life until you're free, put all of your energy into escaping the trap until you are. |
