WRT number of courses I think more than two is probably a bit excessive in these sorts of circumstances - I'd probably round it out with coffee + petit four or something similar though, just to wind down the evening less abruptly. |

To be fair to everyone else's points, the type and quality of the food you serve probably won't be top of mind - it is probably worth spending 15 minutes thinking about how you're going to transition from dessert / coffee to booting him out the door. |
