then there are the clubs where you’d stick out teeing it up in long pants on a warm day but you better go change out of them in the locker room before going in the clubhouse. i don’t mind that either but i’d probably think it’s dumb if i were a new golfer
as for pros shorts usually look funny but it doesn’t matter and we’d get used to it if the tour/majors allowed it |

This was back when heavy cotton dockers type pants were the norm. It was a real pain in the ass. Club did away with the policy finally a few years after I graduated. i started wearing rain pants over shorts if it had rained at all or possibly could and then taking them off when i was out of sight of the first tee. it worked a few times until the team "captain" saw me playing a parallel hole and got maf |
