my notifications were spammed *all day* by libs screeching at twitter support to have my account banned. i didn't engage; i just blocked them. i noted in the bio of the account that the account was not officially associated with donald trump. hours before the suspension, i removed the link to his website from the bio just to be extra safe. screenshot of account before suspension: https://imgur.com/a/DH2IWuB .

(bonus: to see how hard libs railed against this account, just search @str8fromtrump on twitter. that's not even including the quote-tweets of my tweets and they all were posted within the last 30 hours. for some reason, a good chunk of them don't even appear when i do the search now)

i'm not being petty or complaining because an account i made got banned. what is baffling to me is how insanely quickly we've acclimated to tyrannical levels of censorship on the internet, particularly on social media. it's unthinkable that posting screenshots of official statements from the *former president of the united states* is considered dangerous and a bannable offense. we're not even allowed to document the words of the former president. we've slipped into a dark hole. social media companies are so emboldened and brazen in their actions right now.

our government (specifically, our intelligence agencies) can kill innocent people with zero ramifications and their seemingly all-powerful tech allies help them spy on and censor citizens. you have no recourse. they want you to become comfortable with this and will brand anyone who shows dissent a domestic terrorist.

over the past six or so months, things have truly been getting dark and scary. i'm not sure how this is going to end, but this is not going to end well.

btw: i'm going to appeal this suspension. i had a suspension on another account overturned a few weeks ago.

twitter is where hundreds of thousands of people from across the ideological spectrum can see your tweets. i've made tweets in recent months that have received 188k+ impressions. it's true that a high % of the population doesn't use twitter but all journalists do. twitter has an impact. twitter can set news and change lives for better or for worse. gab cannot.
