The best scenes are when Peter is talking to his neighbor about becoming a construction worker. The whole point of the movie is that blue collar jobs have more human dignity that white collar ones. That's the whole point. That white collar work erodes your humanity by a thousand cuts. It's Peter's journey to realizing that there's more freedom in being a blue collar prole than a cog in the machine. The main reason it's liberating is you can always be yourself on a construction site and is way more accepting. Peter is obviously a future MAGA Republican and he has to work construction so he can be racist and sexist on the clock as long as the job gets done. At IniTech he's well on his way to being forced to use pronouns and tolerate lib insanity all while getting passed over for promotions by DEI nonsense.
It's funny though because Peter would have been a Gen Xer who would eventually have gotten Lumburgs job and gotten deep into enforcing the gestapo shitlibbery. Lumburg would have gotten to the C suite and become a turbo Boomer who owned 7 empty houses and complained all day about Millennial and Zoomer laziness. Peter actually would have gone on to be one of these extreme TDS assholes melting down about Trump constantly but he just saved his soul in the nick of time.
