Law students are lazy. They've majored in shit-degrees and have a very skewed view on life. In law school we were always told everyone here is smart.
Umm...that's BS. If you majored in clasics/history/poli and end up with a 3.8 your ass is NOT smart. STFU.
The students who do well are the hardest working. If anything, law school is the great equalizer because you have engineers (who innately work harder) paired with the bs major types. Typically an engineer will win that battle, not becuase he is per-se smarter, but just more responsonsible/efficient/hardworking.

how can people here have such lability regarding career ambitions? how do you go from being the sort of person who went to law school to the sort of person who should have become an engineer -- no, wait, a doctor, no wait, a schoolteacher, no wait, a Chick Fil-A owner.

tell him to:
1. take patent bar (use PLI - will pass on first attempt unless he's a lazy fuck)
2. Go to LS (T1 only)
3. PROFIT
You're welcome.

start at 50-55k (same as engineers, by the way)
after 3 years and establishing themselves in a specialty, they can join a traveling nurse program and earn over $30/hour AND get housing paid for.
and live anywhere in the country
GREAT job.
ALSO, only work 3, 12 hour days per week.

lol. they can be 8am to 8pm as well. You don;t spend your whole career working night shift. You may rotate around a bit... it is not even true that new nurses spend their whole first 3 years working night shifts. Sounds like you actually have no idea what you are talking about... which I suppose is par for course here.
And the many nurses I know have pretty awesome social lives... certainly much better than big law attorneys who work 12 hours 6 days a week. Your days off are awesome.... can even set up 4 day weekend trips.
As for the gross stuff... well, yeah... that is the trade off.
My point is that it is a great career option that should be considered more seriously.
Also, it is probably the BEST option for someone who will ONLY get an undergrad degree.

Interesting. The nurses I knew in California had a completely different experience.
They could earn 80-90k 3-4 yrs out of school and could live where ever they wanted.
Are you sure you are talking about RNs and not just NPs?
ALL of the nurses I knew worked 3 day work weeks... except for clinic work where it was 5 days, 8 hour days (and no bodily fluids). where did these people work?
