I graduated barely above the median at UVA '10...and I can't generate interest from insurance defense boutiques in a Southern state to which I have ironclad ties.

I also boast two no-offers from large firms in the state's biggest city, one of those from a firm at which I spent two summers.

I cannot...CANNOT believe that a Stanford grad, or a Columbia grad, despite missing OCI even, cannot find a job. Let alone a V20 Stanford pedigreed grad who worked in P.E. for years!?

Is this really true? I am not a naive troll by any sense; I realized very early on (to the tune of about 3 years ago) that I was royally screwed after I saw the list of B- grades covering my 1L grades...so thus I spent the time saving up my money while also getting a job in law school (as I knew the green pastures of BigLaw were not awaiting me).

Graduating in Dec.---no debt, about ~$40,000 in the bank, but I also feel sick at the prospect of facing what seems like infinite struggle and unemployment...how the hell are people with the previous poster's pedigrees having so much trouble (even ITE)?? It is shocking to me.

My girlfriend is only NOW reluctantly recognizing the difficulty of all of it and begining to accept that unemployment upon graduation will be inevitable for me....my parents still are in disbelief...just reading this thread has only further accelerated my downward spiral into depression...

i am SLS 07 and the school is small enough that people generally know what is going on w/ people, esp. if you got laid off. 3 years experience is likely someone who would be '06 and no way they'd have trouble getting another job.

think about all the small business owners out there who open up their own businesses where the prospect of success is much less guaranteed (much higher start-up and maintenance costs, fickle demand, etc.)
