Is podcasting a uniquely Anglo-American phenomenon?

There's no French Joe Rogan for example. They have podcasts in other languages but they're never any good. The French are still really into terrestrial radio for some reason. You would think some sort of podcasting star would emerge around the world but the anglosphere seems to be the only place this really happens. They don't have any great long form interviews with notables. They seem to not care at all about audio quality and have heinous room reflections and don't have dedicated podcasting rooms.
They fucking obsessed with aliens and Atlantis. It's really retarded and gay. I can't sit through this shit at all. How do they not have one famous independent podcast interviewer? |

Good history ones I like are Dan Carlin and history of Rome. I do lots of Rogan. He gets great guests. I'll usually skip the comics. |

It's like asking why they don't have their own rappers, singers, or movie blockbusters. To a certain extent they do, but you can still go to these countries and hear an awful lot of Drake. |

And they all have social media influencers and low level YouTube shows with millions of views. They just don't *do* the 3 hour podcast interview format. I watched ONE French podcast where they interviewed some entrepreneur about how he got successful but it was so unbelievably shitty and had not that many views.
