i agree, srsly

cynthia, will you seek a professional evaluation? if a psychiatrist finds that nothing is wrong with you, i'll believe you. but don't you think it's worth getting checked out? an objective evaluation of your experiences and thoughts may even find that YOU'RE right and everyone else is in the wrong.

this may be the way to find the answers you seek

just because you as an amateur say you think there is something wrong with me why would you want a professional to disagree with you? How would an amateur diagnostic require a professional diagnostic?

for the reason you mentioned: we are only amateurs.

would you trust a random person's diagnosis of a disease or a doctor's? we aren't experts. however, we think it'd be worthwhile for you to seek an opinion from a mental health professional.

have you talked to a psychiatrist or psychologist about the things that you think are wrong in your life?

look, even if you're completely right about everything that's going on, you're obviously very upset about it (and frustrated because you have so many unanswered questions). talking to some sort of therapist may help relieve some of your stress. i know tons of people who have sought therapy due to sadness/anger over some aspect of life. there's no shame in it, and it helps a LOT.

Nice dress. Nice jewelry. My hair wasn't great in that photo. But given that most of my dates are part of the burn notice I don't really care that much to turn guys on.

Anyway, the guys the FBI sends to me suck in bed. The guys who are good romantically don't care about my hair.

The DSM-IV-TR contains five sub-classifications of schizophrenia.

Paranoid type: Where delusions and hallucinations are present but thought disorder, disorganized behavior, and affective flattening are absent. (DSM code 295.3/ICD code F20.0)

yeah, paranoid never seemed quite right, because the disorganized behavior/thought seem to be present. paranoid schizos are... you know. like john nash, lol. you wouldn't know it based on their behavior.

what she has seems most like disorganized subtype: http://psychcentral.com/lib/2006/types-of-schizophrenia/

"Disorganized Subtype: As the name implies, this subtype’s predominant feature is disorganization of the thought processes. As a rule, hallucinations and delusions are less pronounced, although there may be some evidence of these symptoms. These people may have significant impairments in their ability to maintain the activities of daily living. Even the more routine tasks, such as dressing, bathing or brushing teeth, can be significantly impaired or lost."

No, I don't think that describes her. there is no impairment in her speech and mannerisms; she's just lost touch with reality.

we don't know how high-functioning she is. she may not be as functional as we think.

obviously, paranoia is present, but that's not even a requisite of paranoid schizophrenia.

her thought patterns are HIGHLY disorganized: see her stream of threads about wedding photos/eating/eaton/deaton.

She seems pretty functional mentally. Nonfunctioning schizophrenics are like children or senile seniors. You have to hold their hands, help them dress, etc.

From Wikipedia:

"Undifferentiated type: Psychotic symptoms are present but the criteria for paranoid, disorganized, or catatonic types have not been met. (DSM code 295.9/ICD code F20.3)"

Yeah, the subtypes seem pretty nebulous, but she's definitely exhibiting schizophrenic symptoms in general.
